How does Amazon Alexa Built-In work with my Lincoln?
Amazon Alexa Built-In*, delivered through SYNC®** 4 and Lincoln Digital Experience-equipped vehicles, allows you to utilize Alexa's capabilities such as playing music, getting directions, checking traffic, managing home smart devices, and more.

Alexa Built-in Features
Combined with the Lincoln Way™ App†, you can:
- Start/stop your engine.
- Lock/unlock your doors.
- Check your vehicle range.
- Check your tire pressure.
Combined with Lincoln Premium Connectivity, you can:
- Stream music and long-form news.
- Listen to podcasts and audiobooks.
- Play games.
- Customize your Alexa flash briefings.
You can also connect smart home devices to your Amazon account and control them from your vehicle (e.g., smart lights and garage doors).
Alexa Built-in Requirements
To use Alexa Built-in, you need to have:

SYNC 4 with Enhanced Voice Recognition.

- The vehicle added to your Lincoln Way† account.
- Lincoln Connect™†† fully activated.

An Amazon account for an Alexa login. For assistance creating an Amazon account, contact Amazon or go to the Amazon website.
Note: Amazon Prime is not required to use this feature.
Setting Up Alexa Built-in
Important: Your vehicle must be parked and running, and in an open location (e.g., free of overhead foliage, ceilings, etc.).
- Tap Settings or the Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Press Amazon Alexa.
- Select Get Started or Yes to view the QR code for the Amazon login page.
- Scan the QR code using your mobile device, tablet, or computer.
- Log in to your Amazon account.
- Enter the code provided on your SYNC screen.
A confirmation screen will appear advising Alexa is now enabled, and you will have access to additional Amazon Alexa settings on your vehicle.
Important: If a code does not appear on your screen, contact Amazon for assistance.
Using Amazon Alexa Built-in
Say “Alexa,” followed by your question or command.
If Listen to Wake Word is turned off, press the Push to Talk button on the steering wheel. After the tone, simply say “Alexa,” followed by your question or command.
Alexa Built-in Subscription Details
You will be enrolled in a complimentary 3-year trial of Alexa Built-In. The start of your trial period will be dependent on the delivery method:
- Vehicle Production: If the Alexa Built-In feature is added during vehicle production, the free trial begins on your warranty start date.
- Software Update: The free trial starts on the date the Alexa feature is delivered to your vehicle through a software update.
You will also be enrolled in a complimentary trial of Lincoln Premium Connectivity that begins on your warranty start date and varies in length based on your vehicle's model year.
Note: A credit card is not required to begin a Connected Services trial. Alexa Built-In and Lincoln Premium Connectivity are part of the Connected Services bundle.
You can purchase a Connected Services plan that is paid monthly based on your enrolment purchase date. Cancelling a paid subscription before it expires entitles you to a prorated refund for the remaining days of the month.
You can access, view, and manage Connected Services through the Lincoln Way App† or the Lincoln Connected Services website.
* Feature is available on select vehicles. Features may vary based on model year, trim, options, packages, and supply availability. Use the Build and Price tool to view feature availability on current models. If you have questions or need more information, reference your Owner’s Manual or contact your Lincoln Retailer.
** Don’t drive while distracted. Use voice-operated systems when possible; don’t use handheld devices while driving. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
